This March, Spirit of Math CEO and co-founder Kim Langen had the opportunity to present a keynote speech to over 300 Chinese principals and teachers at the 21st Century Education Forum in Beijing and Nanjing.
Spirit of Math Schools came to the 21st Century Research Institute’s attention when our students performed very strongly at the World Math Olympiad, a high-level international mathematics competition. The Institute was intrigued to learn just what we are doing to produce such excellent mathematics results.
While in China, Kim talked about the difference in Eastern and Western curricula and how the Spirit of Math approach consists of elements from both. Her speeches and workshops were very well-received by the Chinese educators, who would love for her to return in the future.
