Congratulations Team Canada WMO 2018

WMO Canada, a project by Spirit of Math, is really proud of the success of Team Canada 2018!

Eleven of the twelve amazing and talented members who represented Canada received medals at the WMO Global Finals being held at Stanford University on August 11, 2018!

A few days before the WMO Global Finals was held in Stanford University, we asked to the proud members of Team Canada how they felt about representing Canada, and participating in the global event for the mathematically gifted. Here is what they had to say!

The 2018 World Mathematics Olympics was held in Stanford University on August 11th, 2018.  The IVY League University ranks the second best in the world, and has cultivated 60 Nobel laureates, 20 Turing laureates, 7 Fields Medal laureates. The competition started in the morning with the opening ceremony, and was followed by the individual test. In the afternoon, all participants competed in the group competition.

Within the weekend, the competitors, their family and the coaches visited many cultural sites of San Francisco including the Intel Museum, and the Golden Gate.

Congratulations Team Canada 2018 and thank you to the parents and the coaches for their amazing support during the qualifiers, the training sessions and the competition!
